Privacy & care
Participation with
respect and care.
Your information should help you connect with mentorship, without exposing you to unnecessary risks.
Who is responsible
Savannah Intercultural Institute is responsible for the information collected through this website and through paper, telephone and assisted registration. The Institute's dedicated privacy contact will be published here once confirmed.
What we collect
When you apply as a mentee, mentor or Senior Friend we collect the details on the form you complete: your name, date of birth (mentees and mentors), sex / gender, where you live, phone number, email address where given, occupation, marital status, education (mentors), your motivation, interests and experience, and your acknowledgements. For mentees aged 16–17 we also collect a parent or guardian's name, relationship and phone number.
Why we use it
We use these details to review eligibility, contact you about your application, arrange guardian consent for younger members, review and train mentors, and place members into suitable local mentorship groups. Your age is calculated from your date of birth when we review and place you, because eligibility changes with birthdays.
Who can see it
Membership records are stored securely and can only be seen by authorised Institute staff and coordinators who need them. Public pages never display member lists, contact details, dates of birth, guardian details, payment details or private club meeting information. Contact details are shared only with the people who need them to arrange a placement, and for minors this includes the parent or guardian.
Service providers
The website and its secure database are hosted by Lovable Cloud. If online payment is enabled, payments are processed by Flutterwave, and the Institute receives only the payment status and reference, never card details. Message delivery providers will be listed here when they are configured.
Optional communication and photographs
Newsletters are optional and separate from participation. You can ask to stop receiving them at any time. Permission to use a photograph or personal story is requested separately, and declining does not affect your place.
Your choices
You may ask the Institute to show you, correct, export or withdraw your information. Historical participation records may be retained where needed for safeguarding and accountability, in line with the Institute's retention policy.
Changes
This notice will be updated when contacts, providers or retention arrangements are confirmed. The Institute does not claim any certification or accreditation through this notice.
